Embark on the thrilling Inca Jungle Trek 4 Days / 3 Nights and experience an unforgettable adventure that combines biking, trekking, and breathtaking views of the Andes. Cross rivers, explore hidden archaeological sites, relax in natural hot springs, and finally arrive at the majestic Machu Picchu through the scenic Sun Gate. Our expert guides lead the way as you uncover the natural and cultural wonders of Peru.
START OF THE TREK, We will pick you up from your hotel at 7:30 a.m. in a private vehicle. We will then head towards the Puerto Málaga pass (arriving around 12:30 p.m.). A bit further down lies the village of Alfamayo, where we will begin the bike ride lasting approximately 4–5 hours toward Santa María. Along the route, we’ll enjoy a variety of flora and fauna and visit the archaeological site of Huamanmarca. We expect to arrive at our destination around 5:30 p.m. (Dinner included).
Early in the morning, after a delicious breakfast, we will be ready by 6:00 a.m. to begin our first day of trekking into the jungle. The first three hours will be an uphill hike, but we will make several stops along the way. One of them will be at a local family’s home, where we’ll rest for about 20 minutes and have the chance to refill our water and enjoy some tasty snacks.
Further along, we’ll cross the impressive Inca Trail with stunning views of the entire valley we’ll be hiking through. After that, the path becomes easier as we enter the forest, where we’ll see many coca and fruit plantations and cross a few rivers. In the afternoon, after approximately 7 to 8 hours of walking, we will reach the town of Santa Teresa, located at 1,990 meters above sea level.
At 7:00 a.m., we will begin the second day of trekking and finish around 3:00 p.m., arriving in Aguas Calientes. We will hike for about three hours along an unpaved trail, and then another two hours next to the railway tracks. That night, we will stay in a hostel with a private bathroom and hot water.
In the morning at 5:00 a.m., we will take the bus to the citadel of Machu Picchu and have the opportunity to see the sunrise. Afterwards, we will enjoy a two-hour guided tour, and then you will have free time to visit Huayna Picchu and other places of interest. Later, you will return to Ollantaytambo, where a transfer will be waiting at the station to take you back to Cusco city.
