Description
This tour is an option for people who like hiking and nature and do not have many days, on the route we will appreciate beautiful landscapes, crops of different products such as corn, avocado, pumpkin and others that are produced in this valley of Limatambo.
The Humantay lagoon is located at 4180 meters above sea level with a turquoise color, and the snowy Humantay or Apu Humantay to be connected with nature.
- 05:00 Departure from Cusco to Mollepata breakfast
- 09:00 Arrival to Soraypampa – start of the trek to Salkantay located at 3880 meters above sea level.
- 09:30 Start of the hike to the Humantay lagoon.
- 10:30 Arrival to Humantay Lake. Guided tour begins.
- 12:00 Return to Soraypampa.
- 13:00. Lunch.
- 14:30 Return to Cusco by car
- 17:00 Arrival to Cusco approximately.
Departure from Cusco at 5:00 AM heading toward Mollepata, arriving around 7:00 AM. Along the way, you’ll enjoy beautiful landscapes and see various crops such as corn. As we reach Limatambo, we’ll also see avocado, squash, and other products grown in this valley.
In Mollepata, we will have breakfast. Around 8:00 AM, after breakfast, we will pass through the control point to enter the Salkantay trekking circuit. We then continue the journey to Soraypampa, arriving around 9:00 AM. This is the first campsite for those doing the Salkantay trek and is located at 3,880 meters above sea level.
From this point, we will begin the hike to Humantay Lake. Those who prefer not to walk can rent a horse. The hike takes about 1 hour to 1 hour and 20 minutes at a slow pace, arriving at the lake between 10:00 AM and 10:30 AM, depending on the departure time from Soraypampa.
Humantay Lake is located at 4,180 meters above sea level and has a beautiful turquoise color. Our guide will explain the significance of the lake and the Humantay glacier (or Apu Humantay). We will have approximately 1.5 hours to enjoy the lake, the glacier, and connect with nature.
At 12:00 PM, we begin the descent back to Soraypampa, arriving between 12:30 PM and 1:00 PM. The descent takes less time. Lunch will be served here, and then we will return to Cusco, arriving at approximately 5:00 PM.
